More combat weapons surrendered

  • Residents of a seaside town in Sultan Kudarat province voluntarily surrendered 29 unlicensed rifles, grenade, and rocket launchers to Philippine Army officials.
  • The surrender was made in support of the Small Arms and Light Weapons Management Program of the 6th Infantry Division (ID) and the Office of the Presidential Adviser on Peace, Reconciliation and Unity.
  • Local executives, Army, and police officials helped disseminate the objectives of the program, enabling peaceful surrender of the weapons cache from owners, including members of Moro fronts.
  • Over the past three months, more than a hundred assault rifles, pistols, grenades, and rocket launchers have been collected by officials in Sultan Kudarat province.
