The Madhya Pradesh High Court has ordered the state government to provide a third pay upgrade and pension benefits to a retired commercial tax department official within two months.
The court also imposed a penalty of Rs 50,000 on the state for mishandling the case.
The ruling came after the court heard a petition filed by Mahesh Chandra Tiwari, a retired official from Bhopal.
This ruling offers relief for the petitioner but also highlights ongoing issues surrounding pay upgrades and administrative clarity in public-sector employment.
