Japan will provide India with two Shinkansen trains, the E5 and E3 series, for testing and inspection of the Mumbai-Ahmedabad high-speed rail corridor.
The E5 and E3 series Shinkansen trains will help gather valuable insights into operating conditions on the new rail corridor.
The introduction of these trains will aid in examining track conditions under extreme weather and dusty environments.
Funding for the Mumbai-Ahmedabad bullet train project is largely being sourced through low-interest yen loans from the Japanese government.
