Satya Nadella, the CEO of Microsoft, has taken a swipe at OpenAI, calling it a product company rather than a model company.
Nadella mentioned that Microsoft sees itself as a full-stack company and focuses on integrating models into broader systems and products.
Microsoft has a long-term stable relationship with OpenAI and has built systems and products around OpenAI's models.
To rival OpenAI, Microsoft has developed its own AI models, including Phi-4 multimodal and the MAI models, and is considering releasing them as an API.
