<ul><li>Scientists in Saudi Arabia have developed a new coating for streetlights to make them more efficient.</li><li>The nanomaterial coating, called nanoPE, allows for enhanced thermal management and reduces the LED temperature.</li><li>The coating enables 80% of the heat to pass through the surface while reflecting more than 95% of the visible light back to the ground.</li><li>This technology can lead to significant energy savings, estimated at 1.9 terawatt-hours and reduction of 1.3 million metric tons of CO2 emissions annually in the United States.</li></ul>
