NASA has selected multiple companies to expand the agency’s Near Space Network’s commercial direct-to-Earth capabilities services.The contracts have a cumulative maximum value of $4.82 billion and run until September 2034.Intuitive Machines, Kongsberg Satellite Services, SSC Space U.S. Inc., and Viasat, Inc. are among the companies receiving task order awards.The Near Space Network's direct-to-Earth capability is crucial for NASA's missions, including the Artemis campaign for long-term Moon exploration.
