The Axiom-4 crew, including NASA astronaut Peggy Whitson, European astronaut Slawosz Uznanski-Wisniewski, and Hungarian astronaut Tibor Kapu, is set to return on July 14 after completing 230 orbits and covering 96 lakh km in space.
The departure operations of the crew will be telecast on NASA+ and continued by Axiom Space and SpaceX channels, showing the Dragon spacecraft's re-entry into Earth's atmosphere and splashdown off the coast of California.
Shubhanshu Shukla, an Indian astronaut part of the mission, has been involved in various research activities on the ISS, focusing on topics like bone health, radiation exposure, and microalgae samples.
The Axiom Mission 4, launched on June 25, involved studies like Human Gut Microbiota, Immune Multiomics, Muscular Stimulation, and Microbiome Profiling to expand knowledge on astronaut health for upcoming long-duration missions.
