Researchers at Florida International University (FIU) have developed a new type of battery that could help electric vehicles (EVs) travel much farther on a single charge.
The battery is a lithium-sulfur battery, which offers advantages in terms of weight, cost, and energy storage capacity.
By adding a small amount of platinum nanoparticles to the battery, the FIU team was able to extend its lifespan and maintain 92% of its capacity even after 500 charging cycles.
This breakthrough could revolutionize the future of electric cars, making long road trips more feasible and reducing concerns about charging.
