A team of scientists in South Korea has developed new solar cells made with silver bismuth sulfide (AgBiS2), an eco-friendly and non-toxic material.
These solar cells are safer for the environment compared to traditional ones that use harmful metals like lead or cadmium.
The new technology increases the efficiency of the solar cells by 8.26%.
The researchers created a special thin film to address the issue of reduced performance when the light-absorbing layer becomes too thick, allowing the solar cell to capture more sunlight without losing efficiency.
