Researchers at The University of Texas at Austin have developed a biomass hydrogel that can turn natural waste into water collectors. The hydrogel, created using a special method, can extract moisture from the air and produced over 14 liters of clean water per kilogram each day.The material is natural, biodegradable, and easy to scale up, making it suitable for homes, farms, and emergency situations. The team is now working on designing portable water harvesters, self-watering systems for plants, and emergency water devices.
