Microsoft is planning to introduce a new feature in Windows 11 that will allow users to continue app activity between their Android devices and PCs, similar to Apple's Handoff.
The feature, called Cross Device Resume, was briefly demonstrated by Microsoft but later removed. It will show a badge next to the app's icon on the taskbar, allowing users to resume activity from the mobile version of the app.
Third-party developers are currently testing the feature, and it is expected to roll out via OneDrive with taskbar integration in the near future. Spotify and WhatsApp will be among the first supported apps.
While Microsoft is working towards improving connectivity between Windows 11, Android phones, and iPhones, it still lags behind Apple's seamless integration through features like Handoff and Continuity.
