A group of upset NFT purchasers has filed a lawsuit against Nike following the closure of its digital collectibles division, RTFKT.
The lawsuit alleges that Nike's sudden shutdown resulted in the loss of hundreds of thousands of dollars' worth of digital asset value for the investors.
The plaintiffs claim that Nike breached consumer defense laws by selling unregistered NFTs and not providing notice before canceling the initiative.
Technical issues with the NFTs arose after the shutdown, including missing images and doubts about the long-term value of digital art attached to centralized services.
