Nissan reported a net loss of A$7.1 billion for the financial year ending in March 2025 and is implementing further cuts to address its financial challenges.
The company plans to reduce its factory count from 17 to 10 by March 2028 and decrease its workforce by 20,000 employees by the same time.
Nissan will focus on reducing R&D cost, shortening new model development time, reducing platforms and parts complexity, and reworking its supply chain.
The automaker has paused development on products scheduled after March 2027, initiated a cost-cutting transformation office, and aims to return to profitability by March 2027.
