Nissan is planning to cut nearly 20,000 jobs globally as part of its efforts to regain financial stability.
The job cuts will affect around 15% of Nissan's total workforce and come after substantial losses and intense competition in markets like China.
The company's struggles have been exacerbated by its decline in market share in China and its slow development of electric models compared to Chinese manufacturers.
Nissan is expected to report significant losses for the 2024-25 financial year, with projections reaching between ¥700bn and ¥750bn.
