Nissan will introduce a new compact car based on the Renault Twingo in 2026.
The upcoming Twingo will be built on Renault’s AmpR Small platform, known within Nissan as the CMF-BEV platform.
The Renault Group will develop and produce a derivative of the Twingo for Nissan from next year, and the upcoming model will be designed by Nissan.
This announcement is part of the reorganization of the Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi alliance and includes Renault Group acquiring the remaining 51% of Renault Nissan Automotive India Private Limited (RNAIPL) currently owned by Nissan.
