<ul data-eligibleForWebStory="true">Goa CM Pramod Sawant has declared that cab aggregators like Ola and Uber won't be allowed in the state.This decision comes despite the draft guidelines for app-based taxi and bike operators seeking suggestions and objections in Goa.The guidelines include a regulatory framework detailing licensing fees, tariffs, and incentives.The assurance from Sawant followed pressure from coastal belt MLAs to keep Ola and Uber out.Aggregators must obtain a license to operate statewide, as per the mentioned guidelines.Valid contracts with drivers aligned with state jurisdictions are required as per the guidelines.Ola and Uber faced pricing issues this year over differential fares for Android and iOS users.The Central Consumer Protection Authority issued notices regarding pricing disparities.In February, Chennai auto drivers boycotted Ola and Uber due to high commissions, later prompting platforms to adopt zero-commission models.Amid this, the Centre introduced 'Sahkar Taxi' in March, offering drivers control over earnings without commission cuts.Karnataka HC ordered bike taxi providers like Ola and Uber to halt services, pending a comprehensive regulation policy.The HC recently declined to stay this order until the state releases said policy.
