Nvidia may have found a way to bypass GPU export restrictions in China without compromising its flagship GPU, the RTX 5090D.
The RTX 5090D will have the same hardware specifications as the worldwide version, with firmware adjustments to meet export regulations.
Nvidia will limit the AI performance of the RTX 5090D to comply with restrictions, potentially by limiting Tensor core performance and default power limit.
Similar to the lite hash rate (LHR) limiter versions of previous GPUs, it remains to be seen if enthusiasts will find a way around the limitations of the RTX 5090D.
