Nvidia is developing a Blackwell-based AI accelerator chip for the Chinese market known as B30, enabling users to create high-performance computing clusters by linking multiple units together.
The company is planning to produce over 1 million units of this new chip to maintain market share amidst US export restrictions that impacted their previous H20 chip.
The new chips are expected to have less performance due to compliance with US rules, but the cluster capabilities could enhance their appeal in the market.
Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang expressed interest in continuing to serve the Chinese market with new products, amid concerns about competition from domestic companies like Huawei in the AI chip sector.
