OpenAI is seeking $40 billion in funding from investors including Reliance Industries, Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund, and existing shareholder United Arab Emirates’ MGX.
Each investor is expected to contribute 'at least hundreds of millions of dollars' to the fundraise, aimed at fueling OpenAI's model development and infrastructure plan 'Stargate.'
OpenAI has yet to comment on the reported funding discussions.
The company previously announced the $40 billion funding at a $300 billion post-money valuation in March, with plans to advance AI research, enhance compute infrastructure, and provide more powerful tools.
OpenAI had also explored potential partnerships with Reliance Industries for new AI ventures, with discussions around distributing AI products through Reliance's telecom arm Jio.
