Orbitt Space, a space-tech startup, has raised $1 million in funding led by pi Ventures for developing electric propulsion technology and satellite platform for ultra-low Earth orbit below 250 km altitude.
The funding will be used for accelerating product design, expanding the engineering team, and testing prototypes for ULEO missions.
Orbitt Space aims to pioneer electric propulsion systems that operate sustainably for 5-7 years in high-drag environments using residual atmospheric gases as propellant.
The startup plans to launch ULEO satellites powered by this technology to enable earth observation, telecommunications, climate monitoring, surveillance, and scientific missions.
