Pakistan government has granted a temporary No Objection Certificate (NOC) to satellite-based internet provider Starlink.
Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication issued the temporary NOC on the directive of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to modernize Pakistan's information technology framework.
Starlink will need to fulfill fee payment obligations and compliance requirements to secure a formal license from the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) within the next four weeks.
Starlink's LEO satellites aim to improve high-speed internet connectivity in underserved remote locations in Pakistan.
