Pakistan Launches e-PADS: 400 Foreign & 28,000 local firms registered

  • The Public Procurement Regulatory Authority (PPRA) in Pakistan has launched an advanced e-procurement system called e-Pak Acquisition & Disposal System (e-PADS), enabling the registration of over 28,000 suppliers, including 400 foreign firms.

  • The e-PADS system automates the entire procurement process, eliminating the need for physical visits to offices and payment for tender documents. Tasks from procurement planning to contract awards can now be done online through the platform.
  • The implementation of e-PADS aims to enhance transparency and accountability, as it restricts human intervention with regular security audits. Despite provinces having their procurement bodies, most provinces in Pakistan are already utilizing PPRA's e-PADS system.
