Microsoft is expanding its support for passkeys on Windows 11, allowing users to choose how passkeys are saved and stored.
A new API will enable integration of third-party password managers into the Windows passkey experience.
Windows Hello will prompt users to set up passkeys for websites using their Microsoft account, and users can log in across Windows 11 devices using PIN, fingerprint, or facial recognition.
Passkeys will be secured with end-to-end encryption and stored using the PC's TPM for protection.
