Patanjali Ayurved and five other entities have received clearance from the Competition Commission of India (CCI) to acquire a 98% stake in Magma General Insurance.
The transaction is being notified under the green channel route, which expedites the approval process for deals that don't pose any adverse effect on competition.
Apart from Patanjali Ayurved, the participating entities include S R Foundation, Riti Foundation, RR Foundation, Suruchi Foundation, and Swati Foundation.
Following the approval, Patanjali Ayurved will become the promoter entity of Magma General Insurance, diversifying its portfolio that currently focuses on healthcare and FMCG.
