Paul Marantz, a well-known architectural lighting designer, passed away at the age of 87 in Manhattan.
He was involved in illuminating various structures including the Sainsbury Wing of the National Gallery, the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, the Getty Center, and the Museum of Islamic Art.
Mr. Marantz collaborated with partners on projects such as the Barnes Foundation, Carnegie Hall, Grand Central Terminal, and the New York Public Library.
His lighting designs also graced iconic locations like Studio 54, the Palladium nightclub, and the Times Square Ball for New Year's Eve.
His death on May 26 was due to complications of a stroke, as confirmed by his wife, Jane Marantz.
