The first EV by Perodua has been rendered by Theophilus Chin based on the final prototype showcased at Malaysia Autoshow 2025.The EV, named Aspirations, is a crossover with sleek design features resembling the Toyota C-HR.The exterior of the EV prototype includes hidden door handles, full-width LED bars, and 18-inch wheels.The EV is expected to be larger than the Myvi and will compete in the sub-RM100k bracket in Malaysia.The interior showcases modern features like a digital instrument panel, rotary gear selector, and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.The EV will feature a lithium iron phosphate battery with a target range of 400-410 km and a 0-100 km/h time of 6-7 seconds.Perodua introduces a Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) scheme to address battery health and replacement cost concerns.To address resale value concerns, Perodua offers the option to purchase the car with the battery outright or opt for battery leasing.Pre-production of the EV will start in September, with the launch expected before the end of the year.Perodua aims to protect resale values by implementing a 'guaranteed future value' scheme for the EV.
