Sheffield-based infrared sensor startup, Phlux Technology, has raised €10.7 million in a Series A funding round.
The funding will be used to enable the next generation of fibre broadband connectivity and expand into the optical communications and sensing markets.
Phlux's patented infrared sensors are more sensitive and require less power compared to current alternatives, allowing for faster and more efficient connectivity in applications like fibre-optic broadband and advanced LIDAR sensing.
The company plans to scale its team, increase production capacity, and strengthen commercial partnerships to meet growing international demand.
