The Grove Strolling Corridor villa in Karuizawa, Japan, designed by and to Architectural Design Office, harmonizes with its forest surroundings.
The villa features a piloti structure, lifting it off the ground and integrating it into the forest landscape.
Circular timber columns, crafted from unique-shaped logs, support the large roof and evoke the verticality of the surrounding trees.
The interior design incorporates natural elements, such as flooring made with pressed local leaves, and custom-designed bracket lighting to mimic sunlight filtering through the trees.
