<ul><li>PLUS has activated 28 SmartLane zones for the North South Highway over the Hari Raya Aidilfitri holiday period.</li><li>SmartLane is the opening of highway emergency lanes for legal use by light or passenger vehicles to help smoothen traffic flow and increase capacity at critical stretches on the highway.</li><li>Before the start of a SmartLane, there are signs to inform motorists and reminders every 500 metres.</li><li>The use of highway emergency lanes is only legal at designated SmartLane zones, and a speed limit of below 60 km/h is recommended.</li></ul>
