<ul><li>From January to November this year, a total of 95,298 summonses were issued against road users for running a red light.</li><li>Car drivers recorded the highest number of summonses with 44,889 issued, followed by motorcyclists (39,468), lorry drivers (3,937), and other vehicles (7,004).</li><li>JSPT will carry out stricter monitoring and enforcement at hotspot locations, upgrading CCTVs at primary intersections to detect offences and arrest perpetrators immediately.</li><li>The penalty for red light violations under Section 79(2) of the Road Transport Act 1987 is a fine of RM300 to RM2,000.</li></ul>
