Due to Rite Aid's chapter 11 bankruptcy, approximately 500 Thrifty Ice Cream locations within stores nationwide are set to close.
Thrifty Ice Cream, which started in 1929, holds a significant place on the West Coast for its iconic cylindrical scoop and range of flavors at affordable prices.
Potential buyers could save both Rite Aid and Thrifty through acquisition, as previously attempted by Albertsons in 2018.
Fans of Thrifty Ice Cream can still find it in the freezer section of various retailers and at scoop counters in California, Arizona, as well as select regions in the U.S. and Mexico.
