A portion of Teton Mountain's Second Tower at Grand Teton National Park collapsed in a rockfall over the 4th of July weekend.
The Jenny Lake Rangers announced the collapse on Instagram, noting that it is the second collapse of the Second Tower after a larger one in September 2022.
The recent rockfall has altered the appearance of the Second Tower, part of the famous Cathedral Group skyline at the park.
The unpredictable weather in the area may have contributed to the rockfall, and visitors are advised to minimize time spent under areas prone to rockfall.
