Seattle-based startup Potato AI has secured $1m in pre-seed funding for its AI scientific research assistant.
The platform uses chat-based, generative AI tools to help researchers plan and run experiments, critique journal articles, and assist in reviews of journal submissions.
Potato AI aims to improve research reproducibility and speed up medical breakthroughs by distilling scientific content and designing repeatable experiments.
The company's AI assistant is currently focused on biology and medicine but plans to expand to materials science and chemistry research.
