Preventing excessive rescans on startup
- Upgrading to Bitcoin Core version 28.0 at coinos.io resulted in lengthy rescans causing approximately 30 minutes of downtime.
- Around 200 watch-only descriptor wallets were loaded at startup, each undergoing a 30-40s rescan as the node rebooted.
- During the rescans, the node became unresponsive to other RPC calls.
- Attempts to abort the rescans using 'bitcoin-cli -rpcwallet=
abortrescan' were unsuccessful.
