Prime Video India has introduced NFDC – Cinemas of India as a new add-on subscription, offering users access to a diverse collection of critically acclaimed Indian films.
The add-on, priced at Rs 199 per year, features classics from the National Film Development Corporation (NFDC), known for nurturing iconic Indian filmmakers and cinematic works.
Viewers can enjoy award-winning films in various Indian languages, including Hindi, Bengali, Marathi, Tamil, Malayalam, Telugu, and Gujarati.
The collection includes works by renowned directors like Satyajit Ray, Shyam Benegal, Mira Nair, and Kalpana Lajmi, with titles such as Mirch Masala, Salaam Bombay!, and Rudaali.
Films in the collection have received international and national accolades, with titles like Gandhi, Salaam Bombay!, and Agantuk earning prestigious awards.
The collaboration between Prime Video and NFDC aims to bring Indian cinema's rich heritage to a broader audience, showcasing culturally significant films.
NFDC's Managing Director expressed enthusiasm about making their movie collection accessible to more viewers through Prime Video, highlighting the diverse narratives reflecting India's cultural richness.
