<ul><li>Proton has reintroduced the 'cash for clunkers' program, now named the Proton Xchange Programme, offering a RM2,000 discount for scrapping 15-year-old vehicles towards the purchase of a new Proton model.</li><li>The program, supported by the government for promoting road safety and sustainable mobility, is open to owners of old vehicles that are uneconomical to repair and have been officially deregistered.</li><li>Participants must provide a Certificate of Destruction from Car Medic, the program's partner, and a JPJK1KD form for verification, with the RM2,000 incentive valid for all Proton models, including the upcoming Proton eMas 7 EV.</li><li>Proton has allocated RM4.8 million for this initiative, limited to 2,400 units and running until December 2025, with new car registrants under the program also receiving one-year free road tax.</li></ul>
