Proton Intelligence, a Canada-based startup, has closed a $6.95 million seed round led by SOSV to develop a continuous potassium monitoring device.
The small device, inserted below the skin, will monitor potassium levels and connect to a smartphone app for patients to track their levels and receive notifications if they are out of range.
The device will provide clinicians with a view of a patient's potassium trends, helping to fine-tune therapies.
Proton's founders claim their solution offers usability, accuracy, and clinical impact that surpasses other technologies in the market.
