The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has conducted successful raids in Quetta and Gujrat to combat illegal SIM issuance at Ufone and Zong franchises.
A raid in Quetta resulted in the arrest of the franchise owner and the seizure of biometric verification system (BVS) devices, computers, and unregistered SIM cards.
In Gujrat, the PTA and FIA discovered 433 SIMs issued using fake CNICs at a Zong franchise, leading to the arrest of the franchise owner.
These crackdown operations are part of PTA's efforts to safeguard telecom users by eliminating fraudulent SIM issuance.
