The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) and the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Cyber Crime Wing conducted nationwide raids against sellers of illegal SIM cards.
Raids were carried out in Abbottabad, Skardu, Peshawar, Lahore, and Sialkot, targeting individuals and entities involved in the unauthorized distribution and sale of pre-activated foreign SIM cards.
Multiple suspects were apprehended and a significant number of illegal SIM cards were seized during the raids. The SIMs were being used for cybercrime, financial fraud, and other illegal activities.
PTA and FIA are intensifying monitoring efforts to prevent the distribution and misuse of pre-activated foreign SIM cards, urging the public to report any suspicious sales.
