Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL) and Ufone have secured a significant portion of around Rs77 billion in subsidies from the Universal Service Fund (USF).
The USF aims to expand telecom services in unserved and underserved areas and has allocated Rs141.66 billion in subsidies to various projects.
Challenges such as security concerns and equipment theft have hindered the progress and delayed project execution.
USF focuses on extending cellular, broadband internet, fiber optics, and other telecom services to underdeveloped areas.
