Stellantis is delaying the launch of the all-electric Ram 1500 REV truck to 2026 due to slowing industry demand for half-ton battery electric pickups.
Instead, Stellantis will focus on launching the Ram 1500 Ramcharger, an extended range truck that combines a battery with a gas generator, offering an estimated 690 miles of range.
This decision reflects the trend among legacy automakers to adjust EV production plans due to slower-than-expected demand and higher price tags.
The Ram Ramcharger comes with a 92-kilowatt battery and a 3.6-liter V6 engine with a mounted 130 kW gas generator, offering impressive performance with 663 horsepower and 615 pound-feet of torque.
