Ratan Tata, an Indian industrialist, has been awarded the Order of Australia (AO) honour, the highest civil honour in Australia, for his contribution to Indo-Australian ties in areas such as trade, investment, and philanthropy.
Australia's High Commissioner to India, Barry O’Farrell, shared pictures from the ceremony and stated that Ratan Tata's contributions have also made a significant impact in Australia.
Ratan Tata has been a vocal supporter of the India-Australia Economic Cooperation and Trade Agreement, finalised in 2022, and has assisted visiting business and government dignitaries in India, strengthening bilateral relations between the two countries.
