RAPs are essential as they build genuine relationships, promote cultural awareness and competency, create employment and economic opportunities for Indigenous peoples, and strengthen corporate and institutional responsibility.
A RAP is built on four pillars: relationships, respect, opportunities, and governance & reporting.
Implementing and sustaining a RAP involves engaging Indigenous stakeholders, providing cultural competency training, setting targets and tracking progress, and adapting the plan to remain relevant.
