Retail inflation in June 2025 dipped to 2.1%, the lowest since January 2019, attributed to a favorable base effect and decline in prices of various food items.
Food inflation turned negative at -1.06% in June, showing a significant drop from May. This decrease is the lowest observed since January 2019.
Rural sector witnessed a decline in headline inflation to 1.72% in June from 2.59% in May, with food inflation at -0.92%. Urban sector also saw a decrease in headline and food inflation rates.
Education inflation for June 2025 was at 4.37%, slightly higher than the previous month. Health inflation also increased marginally to 4.43% in June.
