Jamie Siminoff, founder of Ring, is returning to Amazon to oversee its video doorbell unit.
Siminoff left Amazon in 2023 after the company acquired Ring, and founded another startup before selling it to Latch Inc.
He will now be Vice President in charge of Ring, as well as Amazon's smart home camera unit Blink, the Key in-garage delivery operations, and the Amazon Sidewalk low-bandwidth shared network.
Siminoff plans to focus on security, ensuring people feel their homes are safe, and exploring the use of artificial intelligence in Amazon's products and services.
