Since the September 2024 launch of Operasi Saman Tertunggak Warganegara Asing (Ops Tunggak), RM2.5 million has been collected in fines from non-Malaysians, mainly Thai drivers.
Most of the fines were paid in Perlis, Kedah, Kelantan and Perak, which are all Thailand-bordering states.
A Thai van driver settled the highest single fine of RM65,000 in outstanding summonses.
In addition, RM35 million in outstanding saman was collected through JPJ's special compound offer, with about two million summonses still unsettled.
