Operation Sandstorm, a police crackdown on reckless driving at Noosa North Shore in Queensland, resulted in 272 traffic infringement notices being issued over an eight-day period.
Fines were issued for various violations, including driving under the influence of alcohol, unrestrained children in vehicles, and driving vehicles that produce unnecessary noise or smoke.
The operation conducted 2356 random breath tests, with seven positive results, and 195 random drug tests, resulting in 10 people driving under the influence of drugs.
Authorities stressed the importance of safe driving on beaches, with a focus on ensuring the safety of all road and beach users, and highlighted the need for responsible behavior while driving on the beach.
