Grindr will offer its travel feature Roam at no cost for 12 days this holiday season, sponsored by ViiV Healthcare.
Roam enables users to connect with locals worldwide and has already helped thousands of people explore new cities since its launch earlier this year.
To experience Roam, users can open Grindr, navigate to the side tray, tap ‘Roam,’ select any destination, and activate the feature, allowing their profile to appear on the local grid in that area.
The feature is intended to be a simple, flexible way to make connections on your terms without physically travelling or leaving home.
Roaming makes the user's profile visible to locals, giving them more chances to connect and chat, with a small 'visiting' icon on their profile letting locals know you're checking out the area and looking around.
Roam is aimed not only at exploring far-off cities, but also for connecting with people in a nearby neighbourhood.
For $5.99 an hour, users can use Roam to plan ahead with confidence or feel less overwhelmed when relocating.
Grindr has more than 14.5 million monthly active users and is available in 190 countries and territories.
Grindr for Equality is committed to advancing human rights, health, and safety for millions of LGBTQ+ people in partnership with organisations in every region of the world.
