Robinhood has experienced a surge in demand for tokenized equity access, particularly from firms perceiving blockchain as a gateway to wider capital markets.
The platform, which is currently available in the EU, offers over 200 tokenized U.S. stocks and provides non-tradable tokens for companies like SpaceX and OpenAI.
Robinhood's goal is to onboard numerous private firms onto the platform, aiming to address capital access disparities, with regulatory scrutiny present, especially from Lithuania's central bank.
While discussions with regulators in the U.S. and U.K. are ongoing, Robinhood believes existing laws are sufficient for U.S. approval, aligning with the growing global trend towards onchain finance and the tokenization of assets.
