<ul><li>Russian investigator, Marat Tambiyev, has been sentenced to 16 years in jail for accepting a bribe of 1,032 bitcoins worth approximately $65 million.</li><li>The bribe was given by members of the Infraud Organization hacking group, which Tambiyev was investigating while working for the Investigative Committee of Russia (ICR).</li><li>Tambiyev received the bribe on the condition that the group's illegal assets would not be confiscated, allowing two members to avoid prison.</li><li>Russia has been cracking down on illicit use of cryptocurrencies, and recently arrested nearly 100 suspected cybercriminals involved in illegal activities.</li></ul>
